Meadowwood Golf Club

Date: 10/08/2011 Score: 67(-5) How can a round with 8 birdies not be memorable?  And I'm not exaggerating when I say it really should have been 9.  I had a tiny up and down to make on the Par-5 7th but they had just aerated the fringe and there were plugs all over the place.  The same thing happened on #18 which also cost me a stroke.   It was probably the only round I've ever played where I had all facets of my game working.  I kept my ball in play off the tee.  I hit some irons that left me tap-in birdies.  I made some extremely long putts.

Torrey Pines (South)

Date: 02/07/2012 Score: 73(+1) This round was memorable for several reasons:   They had just finished playing the Farmers Insurance Open the day before. I got to play golf in the middle of the winter. I was playing a U.S. Open course. I was basically the only one on the course (since it had rained a bit and scared everyone away). It was the best I had ever scrambled in a round of golf.  I hit very few greens but managed to scramble for par around 10 times.

Chambers Bay

Date: 07/13/2012 Score: 71(-1) This was such a memorable round because I had 6 birdies on a future US Open course that I had never played before from the furthest tees they had out.  Probably the best round I've played from tee-to-green.   And it's probably my favorite course now!

Memorable Shots

Indian Canyon   Hole: 8

Date: 05/15/2010 Hole Score: My first hole-in-one!  The tee shot is listed at 205 yards but it was probably playing more like 198.  I used a 5-iron.

Wolf Creek Golf Club   Hole: 12

Date: 01/23/2016 Hole Score: Eagle Holed out from 167 yards with a 7-iron for Eagle.

Buffalo Hill Golf Club (Championship)   Hole: 15

Date: 08/22/2015 Hole Score: Eagle Chipped in from off the green for a eagle.  I actually called that I was going to make it too, which I don't do very often.

Memorable Moments

My first round under par, at Whitefish (South).  I made 6 birdies against 4 bogeys and finished with a 69 (-2).

Fellow Core Four member Pat and I played the 63 holes walking at the Deer Park Golf Club.  And we had time to play 18 holes more.  Probably more impressive than our 82 holes at Chewelah.

Can't forget when fellow Core Four member Pat duck hooked his 2nd shot on the #10th hole at Eagle Bend so bad that it started bouncing around in someones garage while he was working in there.  The guy walked out to our cart and, needless to say, there was a bit of a confrontation!

When playing Granite Pointe on one of our trips to British Columbia, all Core Four members manged to drive the green on the Par-4 16th hole.  That will never happen again!

We played Apple Tree twice in one day.  The Par-3 2nd is uphill so you can't see where your ball ends up.  Both tee shots finished directly behind the hole, just inches away.  I'm guessing that both shots lipped out a bit.   Hadn't had a hole-in-one at the point and nearly ended up with 2 in one day, and on the same hole.

Fellow Core Four member Pat and I played 82 holes in one day.  Yes, 82 holes!  We did this at the Chewelah Golf and Country Club on a weekday (they had an all day rate, including cart).  The reason we played 82 holes and not 81 is because we were tired of waiting behind a group in front of us so we played the 8th hole twice in a row.

Ian hit the tee marker on the Par 3 12th at Kahler Glen which caused the ball to shoot left toward the houses but spin back toward the hole.  The ball finished just a few feet short of the green.  Impossible!
